We thought about getting creative but the truth is there is no better way for us to begin than by listing the best public and private golf courses in your area. After they are out of the way we will mention the best local golf stores to buy new clubs, bags, balls, tees, apparel, and all kinds of great gear.

Best Golf Courses In Phoenix

Many would agree that the best public and private golf courses in Phoenix are:

Raven, Papago, and Western Skies have some of the best 18-hole golf courses near you with pars of 72, course ratings of 73.2, 75, and 70.6, slope ratings of 132, 130, and 123 plus total lengths of 7,078, 7,333, and 6,744 yards respectively.

You can find a fun 18-hole par 71 course with a total length of 6,946 yards, 72 course rating, and 127 slope rating at The Legacy Golf Club which opened in 1999.

Dobson Ranch features an 18-hole golf course which has a par of 72, course rating of 71, slope rating of 117, and a length of 6,593 yards.

Red Mountain Ranch Country Club, Troon Country Club, and Arrowhead Country Club feature private 18-hole par 72 courses with lengths of 6,774, 7,041, and 6,619 yards, 73.3, 73.9, and 72.6 course ratings, and 144, 146, and 132 slope ratings respectively.

Greenfield Lakes Golf Course and Rolling Hills Golf Course have 18 holes with lengths of 4,107 and 3,828 yards for pars of 71 and 62 plus course ratings of 58.6 and 58.9 and slope ratings of 88 and 93.

The local Bear Creek Golf Complex opened its par 71 18-hole course in 2000 which has a rating of 71.6, slope rating of 122, and a total length of 6,825 yards.

Ocotillo Golf Club offers three 9-hole courses that are played in combinations ranging from 6,782 to 7,016 yards from the back tees and 5,128 to 5,134 yards from the front tees for pars of 71 and 72.

Two 18-hole par 71 courses can be found at TPC Scottsdale which opened in 1986 and is home to the infamous Phoenix Open. The Stadium course has a course rating of 74.7, slope rating of 142, and a total length of 7,261 yards while the Champions course has a length of 7,115 yards, course rating of 73.4, and slope rating of 137.

A fun 9-hole par 33 course with a length of 2,406 yards, course rating of 31.2, and slope rating of 109 is featured at Shalimar Golf Club which opened in 1960.

The 500 Golf Club offers an 18-hole course with a par of 72, course rating of 71.5, slope rating of 121, and a total length of 6,867 yards.
